eco- = from the Greek ‘oikos’ (household or home)

-topia = from the Greek ‘topos’ (place)

No ecotopia is an isolated island. The history of the various ecotopias is as long as humanity itself, and each ecotopia is a unique product of its time, yet closely linked to its predecessors. At a time when natural disasters, climate refugees and care deficits are transforming the society, new ways and solutions must be found to build community and living conditions. I asked questions around this topic in a letter form and people could answer and drop their thoughts to the box. After the exhibition I illustrated the thoughts. 

The piece was exhibited in May 2024 at gallery Konstfack and I was excited to get so many letters from the visitors. It was also exhibited at Munnen in October 2024.
